I was wondering what should I do for my husband for Father's Day. He doesn't need any "thing", so I am thinking of how I can surprise him. I am searching for ideas.

Then my next thought is, why do I leave it till the last minute? and then the next thought is, do I really have to do anything after all these years? Funny how the mind works.

Is it just me, or does this go for all parents with grown children out there - it's not easy to pin down the "kids" to come over for dinners or parties any more. They have their lives! Of course we know they love us, but they are hard to pin down.  So we just have to love them the way they are.

Thanks Suzan. My father in law passed away from Pulmonary Fibrosis. It sounds similar in that it restricted his ability to breath.

Yes, you are right, that special day of holding a grandchild will come, there is no rushing it, and certainly the bond of a good marriage is important. Thank you for your words of wisdom.

What exactly is COPD?

COPD is a lung disease that can limit your airflow. When some people hear "COPD," they're not sure what to think. It may be confusing because Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is only one of a group of closely related chronic lung diseases.

COPD may include chronic bronchitis, emphysema, or both.

Holding your 1st grandchild is very close to the feelings you have when you hold your first born...You count fingers and toes..You are so proud! Grandkids are some thing you cant rush. Its better in the long run that the young couple get know each other..the bond of a good marriage is one thing you cannot give your grandkids..That special day will come!

Thank you so much....

Welcome to our group Suzan.

What is COPD? I cannot imagine what it was like for you to experience your son's death. We offer you lots of light and hope other children and grand children bring you lots of joy. We don't have grand children yet. We are looking forward to having them but none will be coming any time soon.

What was it like for you when you held your first grand child?

Our "boys" are 22 and 27. My husband is wanting to be a grand father. Yet there are no signs of it happening any time soon. Are we too anxious?
